True story… On a spring day in Brooklyn New York, my brother stepped outside his brownstone house that he and his wife were renting.

He was selling a set of golf clubs that he had bought from a player a few months ago.

Nathan had polished up the clubs and listed them online Just like he had done so many times before. (Nathan’s actually made quite a business out of his golf club hobby.) See Putnam Putting.

The buyer showed up and looked the clubs over. Then he handed Nathan a few bills and Nathan handed over the set of clubs.

At that moment, three police cars converged from the left and right and pulled in with their lights flashing. The policemen took Nathan and cuffed him.

They had been watching his activity for weeks, and couldn’t believe that he was making this much money LEGALLY. They had some questions for him and marched him up to his apartment for a chat.

As it turned out, everything was kosher. Nathan just did a great job of finding clubs that players didn’t want any more, cleaning them up to look like new (sometimes adding new grips or refinishing the faces of the clubs), and selling them for a handsome profit.

Funny. Meanwhile…

My other brother builds websites for people. His business is Ramp Ventures. He’s doing quite well for himself, making a full time income working part-time hours doing something he loves. He’s even making enough to buy a house this spring!

I guess you could say income is in our blood.
